During Coach Goldhammer's tenure at CMS he has developed the program from a middle of the pack team to a perennial conference power. Under his direction the men and women have finished first or second in the SCIAC 41 times in the last 23 years. The men's program has won the last 17 SCIAC titles. The women's team have won 10 out of the last 14 SCIAC titles. At the national level he has coached 67 athletes who have achieved 100 All-American titles including eight National Champions. In addition to overseeing the entire program he coaches the field events and the hurdlers.

Prior to CMS he coached at UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College and Cal State Los Angeles. He and his wife Toni live in Claremont. Their older daughter, Ami, is a graduate of Long Beach State.  Their younger daughter, Elizabeth, attends UC Santa Cruz.

2008 will mark Coach Beck's 23rd year with the program, the last 19 coaching. He graduated from Harvey Mudd in 1990 and started coaching at CMS in the fall. In 1992 he earned a Master's degree from the U.S. Sports Academy in Sport Management. He coaches the sprinters and distance runners. He has coached 16 individuals and six relays who have achieved 32 All-American titles including one National Champion. In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Beck serves as the CMS Sports Information Director. He and his wife Kathy have two sons, Kevin and Ryan.
