Ross, Pittman Earn All-American Honors

Evelyn Ross (JR, Iowa City, IA) and Ryan Pittman (SO, Ashland, OR) earned All-American honors at the Division III Track & Field Championships in Oshkosh, WI. Ross finished fourth in the women's steeplechase and Pittman finished seventh in the men's decathlon.

Ross was seeded ninth entering the competition, but she ran a personal best time of 10:30.56 which broke the CMS and SCIAC records by 15 seconds and is the tenth best time ever in Division III history.  She scored five points which placed CMS in a tie for 53rd in the meet.

Pittman was seeded 13th coming into the meet, but a steady performance including personal bests in the long jump, 400 meters, pole vault, discus throw and 1500 meters scored him 6,266 points and a seventh place finish.  He scored two points which placed CMS in a tie for 69th in the meet.

CMS had four additional competitors in the meet.  Ryan Martin (SR, Redondo Beach) in the 400 meters, Andrew Bogrand (JR, Portland, OR) in the javelin throw and Jeff Clark (JR, Los Altos) in the high jump all finished ninth, one place out of All-American recognition.  Mary Moore (JR, Yamhill, OR) finished 16th in the hammer throw.
