During Coach Goldhammer's tenure he has developed the cross country program into a perennial conference contender. Under his direction the men and women have finished first or second in the SCIAC 37 times. The women's program has won 12 of the last 14 SCIAC titles and a total of 16 SCIAC crowns while the men's team has won nine titles. At the national level the women have competed as a team 10 times while the men's team has gone six times. In 1995 the women finished in fourth place at the NCAA Championships and won CMS' first NCAA women's team trophy. He has coached 14 athletes who have earned 17 All-American honors.

Prior to CMS he coached at UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College and Cal State Los Angeles. He and his wife Toni live in Claremont. Their older daughter, Ami, is a graduate of Long Beach State and their younger daughter, Elizabeth, attends UC Santa Cruz.

2008 will mark Coach Beck's 23nd year with the program, the last 19 coaching. He was a member of CMS' first men's cross country SCIAC Championship team and graduated from Harvey Mudd in 1990 . He started coaching at CMS that fall. In 1992 he earned a Master's degree from the U.S. Sports Academy in Sport Management. In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Beck serves as the CMS Sports Information Director. He and his wife Kathy live in Yorba Linda with their two sons, Kevin and Ryan.
