Both Teams Finish 6-1 At Multi-Duals
The men's and women's cross country teams both finished 6-1 at the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet at La Mirada Park on Saturday. Both losses were 27-28 with the men falling to Occidental and the women to Redlands. This meet, where all eight teams run together and is scored as 28 separate dual meets, counts for one-half of the SCIAC title. The other half is determined at the SCIAC Championships on October 28.
Dan Hayman (SR, Marysville, WA) finished fourth overall and led four Stags in the top eight. Mike Van Antwerp (SO, Reno) was fifth, Chris Gurney (SO, Ventura) was seventh and Brad Johnson (JR, Berkeley) was eighth. Adam Coleman (JR, Clayton) was 15th and Ethan Meyers (FR, Pacific Palisades) was 18th.
Katie Mouzakis (SR, Alta Loma) finished fifth in the women's race and led five Athenas in the top 15. Evelyn Ross (SO, Iowa City, IA) was ninth, Brittany Nunnink (SO, Charlotte, VT) was 11th, Laurie Mittermiller (FR, La Jolla) was 14th and Ariane Mohr-Felsen (SO, Laurel, MD) was 15th.
