Settem Resigns As Water Polo Coach

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps announces the resignation of Tim Settem, Head Men's & Women's Water Polo Coach, effective immediately. Following six years with CMS, he has stepped down to pursue other coaching and teaching opportunities.
Settem took over the reins of both programs in 2001-02. The men's program, which finished tied for fifth in the SCIAC prior to his arrival, finished in the top half of the conference in five of his six years including two third place finishes. The women's program finished in the top three in the SCIAC four times during his tenure including a SCIAC Championship in 2006. The 2006 team advanced to the NCAA Championships and finished seventh nationally. Settem was named the 2006 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Division III Coach of the Year. He coached 16 First Team All-SCIAC players including the 2006 SCIAC and Division III Player of the Year.
"I want to thank Tim for his contributions to the growth and stability of the water polo programs during his six years. He has been a valuable member of the department," stated Director of Athletics Mike Sutton, "We wish him the best of luck in the future."
